Doyle Lee Bishop
Doyle Lee Bishop, 77, of Republic, Mo., died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at home.
A memorial service was held Friday in Springfield, Mo.
A local memorial service is planned March 22 at Birmingham First Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Bishop was born Sept. 18, 1936, in Brookfield, Mo., the son of Charles Bishop and Lucille Ireland Bishop. He married Darlene Beggs Oct. 10, 1959.
He graduated from Birmingham High School in 1955.
He and his wife moved to Brookfield and raised a family and farmed. He owned and operated Bishop Trucking.
The couple moved near Springfield, Mo., in October 1985, then to a farm near Republic, Mo., in 1989, where he continued Bishop Trucking and Excavation Company.
He enjoyed being busy and being with people.
Survivors include four daughters, Debbie Brady and spouse Mark of Boonville, Mo., Lavena Pilgrim and spouse Scott, Michelle Gugliotta and spouse Frank, and Teresa Davidson and spouse Robin, all of Springfield, Mo.; one son, Donnie Bishop of Springfield, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Donna J. Corry of Birmingham and Beverly Naylor of Batavia.
