Drive One
Fesler Auto Mall co-owner and sales manager Brian Starnes, left, hands a $6,000 check from the from the Ford Drive One for Your Schools to Fairfield Community School District Activities Director Jeff Courtright. The fund-raising event was held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 25 at Fairfield High School. For each eligible driver who test-drove a Ford vehicle, Fesler’s and the Ford Motor Company donated $20 toward the district’s activity fund. Three hundred drivers, 18 years old or older with a valid driver’s license, were needed for the district to receive the maximum $6,000 donation. Donations are limited to one per household. Those who test drove any Ford vehicle were entered for a chance to win a 2013 Ford Escape. For information, visit www.drive4urschool.com. Since the program’s inception in 2007, the Ford Motor Company has offered more than 275,000 test-drives at more than 1,500 events to generate more than $5 million for high schools nationwide. The money raised during the events has helped ensure extracurricular activities, like sports and music programs, continue in local communities.
