Eastern Iowa railroad bridge goes up in flames
COGGON (AP) — Authorities are investigating what caused a railroad bridge to go up in flames in eastern Iowa’s Linn County.
The blaze was reported a little after 8 p.m. Wednesday on the north side of Coggon, where the tracks cross Buffalo Creek. No injuries have been reported.
Capt. Jason Hartman of the Coggon Fire Department told Cedar Rapids television station KCRG that “the entire bridge was rolling in flames” when firefighters arrived.
They remained on the scene after putting out the fire, looking for hot spots.
