Election time lacks substance
To the editor:
Election time has become less about substance than style and more about money than providing honest solutions to our nations problems.
Both our candidates, President Obama and Governor Romney, have lessons to learn about leadership. For instance, how to rise above the pettiness of partisan politics and serve all our citizens. But in our current economic crisis: rising deficits, high unemployment and the fiscal cliff in January; this is not a time for change in the Oval Office or a time to return to failed policies like trickle down economics. Most important of all, it is a time for the elected officials, Republican and Democrat/liberal and conservative, to meet halfway in the creative center of our political system, where the solutions are. And that takes common sense and a willingness to compromise.
