Emor S. Ballou
Emor S. Ballou, 79 of Ashland, Neb., died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at Brookestone Meadows in Elkhorn, Neb.
A service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Ballou was born Aug. 19, 1934, the son of Earl B. and Rose Heldt Ballou.
He graduated from Fairfield High School 1952, attended Parsons College for two years and graduated from Lincoln School of Commerce, Lincoln Neb., in 1956.
He worked for the Burlington Railroad in offices in Lincoln, Chicago and Detroit.
He was a partner in a travel agency in Chicago and Detroit, allowing him many opportunities for traveling vacations to Hawaii and many countries.
He returned to Fairfield, where his widowed mother lived, working at Jefferson Motor Company until retiring in 2002.
He was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield.
He took his confirmation class under the Rev. Howard Lacy in 1947 while attending the Congregational Church in Ashland, Neb., the four years his family lived there from 1945-1948, before returning to Fairfield.
He moved back to Ashland in 2005 where he lived with his sister in rural Ashland.
Survivors include one sister, Catherine Marcy.
He was preceded in death by parents.
