End-of-summer art classes for youth begin Saturday
Summer vacation is winding down, but with Fairfield Community School District classes not starting until after Labor Day this year, there are some extra days for fun actvities, so the Fairfield Art Association is offering a few “End of Summer Art Classes” for area youth.
“Younger Youth Art Room” is designed for children ages 5-7, who can attend a week-long morning class Monday through Aug. 15.
The class will be 10-11:30 a.m. in the Fairfield Art Association Studio at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. Students can attend all classes for $45 or choose days for $10 each.
Instructors Suzan Kessel and Christie Kessel promise a fun creative time with sculpture, painting, drawing, collage and design projects.
Class will be limited to a number of students. Sign up at email@example.com.
“Create Bird Art” for students in fourth through 12th grades and adults will be 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Kella J. Tschopp and Nancy Huebner will instruct the class in 3-D mixed media, starting with a wood block, painting and adding various materials to create an artistic bird.
Class fee is $12 or $10 for a Fairfield Art Association member. Preregister at firstname.lastname@example.org.
“Young Artist Mentoring” is back for youth in fourth through eighth grades with Tschopp.
The ongoing mentoring class will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. every Thursday in August. After Labor Day, the class will switch to a regular schedule of 4-5:30 p.m. on Thursdays.
The structure of the art class is individualized with one-on-one attention and creative projects to stimulate growth of artistic talents. Find out more or register by emailing email@example.com.
