Genet Arede, right, serves a plate of Ethiopian food to Stacy Maurer and Doga Ozesmi Saturday at the Fairfield Farmers Market. Arede’s booth included dishes such as lentil and split pea soup, cabbage, carrots, spinach and a flatbread called Injera. Arede cooks and serves food from her native country every Thursday lunchtime at the Holy Spirit Church. The Fairfield Farmers Market is every from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday in the Fairfield Senior Citizen Center.
