Exiting Fairfield city council race
To the editor:
My name is on the ballot along with four other candidates for the four-year at-large seat on the Fairfield City Council.
Although it is too late to remove my name from the ballot, I have recently decided not to conduct a campaign and to ask any who may have been inclined to vote for me to vote for another candidate. In my opinion, any of the four remaining candidates would make an excellent city council member, and it is unlikely my campaign will be of additional value for the city of Fairfield.
If you are one of those who are eligible to vote in Fairfield, I urge you to consider the power of unity and harmony. In our national culture, which values competition and winning extremely highly, the value of harmony is often overlooked. Harmony has great power to create an environment of prosperity and wellbeing. Please consider the ability to create harmony among all the diverse population of Fairfield as a very high value when you vote for a candidate for city council.
