FAIRfest volunteers meetings scheduled
Organizers of FAIRfest, the three-day free music festival sponsored by KRUU 100.1 June 20-22, are seeking community volunteers to assist in a number of areas starting now and during the event.
Volunteer informational meetings will be held at 7:30 p.m. May 22 and 2 p.m. May 24 at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.
Erika Richards, FAIRfest volunteer organizer said volunteering could include boots-on-the-ground projects now, and/or leading up to the event, as well as being a part of the event as it happens
“We are reaching for a greater number of attendees this year, and that’s going to require more of us as we seek to show Fairfield’s very best side to visitors,” said Richards.
Volunteer areas include: stage building and break down, loading of musician equipment, security, musician hospitality, beverage garden, sanitation, recycling/clean up, merchandising during the festival, camping organization and oversight, first aid, social media prior to and during the event, poster and flyer distribution, vendor support and conducting surveys during the festival.
Richards said volunteers can be organized into teams of friends or co-workers or individually and that categories are not mutually exclusive and could include some overlap.
“Groups can take on an entire category of need or individuals wishing to volunteer can take on as much or as little as they would like,” she said.
