Fairfield bowling team wins home dual over Mt. Pleasant

Feb 04, 2014

The Fairfield bowling team had a successful Saturday hosting the Mt. Pleasant Panthers.

The boys’ team won 2,815-2,535 and the girls’ team won a close match 2,219-2,167. Brayden Miller took his turn leading the team by bowling a round one 434. His game two 267 was the high score of the day.

“Our boys continue to improve and are really starting to work well together as a team,” coach Lisa Greenig said. “It’s encouraging to see the improvement in these young bowlers.”

The girls’ team was led by Kylee Marlay, who bowled a round one 344. Sara Trent and Madelyn Swan had successful days as well. The baker game made the match much closer than it needed to be.

“We have such a young team and it was difficult for them to focus on the game rather than the outcome,” Greenig said. “It is critical that we take care of the basics one frame at a time.”

The JV boys and the JV girls each lost their contests. Abby Adam led the girls with a first round 283, while the boys were led by Logan Stark’s first round 294.

The Trojans travel Saturday to Washington.
