Apr 29, 2013

The Education Foundation of Fairfield Public Schools Inc. will have a raffle in conjunction with its Faculty Follies Sunday.

Grand prize is $2,500, with $1,000 and $500 also being drawn. The raffle drawing will take place during the Faculty Follies. Winners do not have to be present to collect their prize.

Raffle tickets are $20; with a limited number being sold. To purchase a raffle ticket, contact one of the following education foundation board members: Chad Thompson, Bev Nelson, Beth Greiner-Ward, Margaret Kelly, Ben Huff, Doug Kuehl, Gary Henry, Terri Kness, Glenn Perkins, Steve Lamb, Detra Dettmann, Craig Foss, Hanna Kerr, Cathy Kaska, Art Sathoff or Jeri Kunkle. Raffle tickets also will be sold at the door.

Faculty Follies is a variety show put on by the Fairfield Community School District teachers, administrators, and staff to thank the Education Foundation of Fairfield Public Schools for its support. The concert is at 2 p.m. at the Fairfield High School Auditorium. Follies tickets may be purchased at any Fairfield school for $10 adults and $5 for students or at the door. Students will want to come see their teachers and principals perform like they have never seen them before.

All proceeds from the show and raffle tickets will go to the education foundation’s endowment fund.

The education foundation is a nonprofit organization seeking to promote excellence in education. Since its founding in 1997, the group has awarded more than $257,000 in grants to teachers and staff. Twice a year teachers may apply for a grant to enhance learning in their classrooms. Grants such as books for classrooms, microphones for chorus, laptops, iPads, interactive white boards, listening stations, video cameras, math workstations, and interactive science games are just a few of the items that have been awarded.
