Apr 26, 2013

BLOOMFIELD — Sophomore Alexander Punj won his singles match and teamed up with fellow sophomore Alex Simpson for a win in doubles, but the Trojan boys couldn’t prevent their seventh meet defeat in a row Thursday.

The host Mustangs earned wins in the seven other matches to post a 7-2 victory over Fairfield, which fell to 0-7 on the season. Punj won his No. 1 singles match 8-2, and the star sophomore and Simpson claimed an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles.

Fairfield returns home Tuesday to host Mount Pleasant in a rain-delayed dual.
