Fairfield freshmen defeat Chariton
The Fairfield freshmen football team defeated Chariton 28-12 Friday.
Denver Schultz went 2-3 passing with 30 yards and a touchdown. He also had a rushing touchdown.
Brandon Smithburg capped his season with a 238-yard, two touchdown performace. One of his touchdowns was an 84-yard run that started off the game.
Josh Osby caught the two completions Schultz threw, one of which was a touchdown.
Michael Fritz and Trenton Hanen led the defense with eight tackles each. Kyle Roberts had four tackles and a fumble recovery.
“This group of players has improved tremendously over the course of the season,” coach Justin Copeland said.
The freshmen finished the season with a 3-6 record.
