Fairfield has great team of principals
To the editor:
October is National Principals Month, and Gov. Terry Branstad has also issued a proclamation honoring elementary, middle and high school principals and recognizing their importance in ensuring that every child has access to a high-quality education.
I want to capitalize on this occasion to thank the principals of the Fairfield Community School District for their commitment to the students and staff they serve.
It is a sincere pleasure to work closely with the school district’s principals. All of them—Christopher Welch and Jeff Eeling in the elementary schools, Laura Atwood and Matt Jones in the middle school, and Aaron Becker and Brian Stone in the high school—are extremely devoted to their jobs and continually focused on providing safe, world class schools for our students. Whether it is planning and participating in staff development, dealing with student behavior and attendance, allocating resources, evaluating staff, conducting parent meetings, or any of a myriad of other duties, the Fairfield CSD principals consistently prove themselves to be dedicated, caring, growing professionals.
While you probably will not find principals engaged in self-promotion, I appreciate being able to thank them publicly and thank them for their efforts. School administration is often challenging work, but it is significant work, too, and our principals know that. They love our kids and staff and appreciate being able to come to work each day to serve them. The Fairfield community and surrounding area have so many positive aspects and so much to offer. Excellent school principals are one important piece of that puzzle. If you get the opportunity this month or any other time, take a moment to thank the school principals you know for the important work they do.
