Fairfield sewer overflows
Fairfield experienced sanitary sewer overflows Sunday that resulted in 265,775 gallons of untreated wastewater to be discharged.
The city received 0.7 inches of rain in a very short time frame. The discharges were from manholes north of the wastewater facility and were discharged into Crow Creek, south of the Fairfield Gold and Country Club and south of Jefferson County Park. The city is conducting flow studies with McClure Engineering and French-Reneker-Associates to evaluate solutions to the problem.
