FHS Class of 1956
FHS CLASS OF 1956
Members of the Fairfield High School Class of 1956 celebrated their 60-year reunion with a full weekend of activities Sept. 16-17.
The evening of Sept. 16, classmates, family members and friends gathered informally at the Walton Club for socializing and getting reacquainted.
Several class members rode in the Kids’ Day parade the morning of Sept. 17, thanks to vehicles provided by Ralph Caves, Pete Nelson and Lee Morton.
A tour of the newly remodeled high school building the afternoon of Sept. 17 was guided by Jeff Courtright, activities director. Classmates were impressed by the changes and improvements, though a few comments were overheard from those wondering if they would get lost finding their way around.
The banquet was held the evening of Sept. 17 at Fairfield Elks Lodge, beginning with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. The evening included an invocation by Norma Seaton, a dedication in memory of 40 deceased classmates by Linda Carnahan, a reminiscence about the Fairfield square in the ’50s read by Margaret Berg, and a program of humor and nostalgia by perennial emcee Bruce Louden. Clippings, pictures and mementos from the past were displayed, friendships were refreshed, and many pictures taken.
Classmates who attended the weekend’s activities were accompanied by spouses, family members and friends.
