FHS music students planning ‘SWEET: Desserts and a Show’
The Fairfield High School music department is planning “SWEET: Desserts and a Show” Saturday at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center’s Expo Hall.
The doors will open at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 6:30 p.m.
The show is meant to replace the annual fundraising dinner show. With the change, the ticket price has been reduced, to make it affordable to all. A $4 ticket admits the holder in to see the show, and coffee, tea and milk will be provided. Seating will be first-come, first-served. Those attending will have the option of purchasing a dessert plate for $3, which can be used to get a variety of donated treats from Yummy’s Gourmet Cakes.
The new format will feature the talented FHS students in several groups: The Freshmen Ensemble, the men’s ensemble called The GYZ, the women’s ensemble called The GRLZ, the jazz choirs including The Raw Notes and Jazz Ex, Fairfield Brass and Electric Jazz Band, and the small men’s group known as Sunrise on the Dakota Territory, 1887, all performing an eclectic mix of music.
