Fairfield Fire Department responded to a car fire at 7:09 p.m. Tuesday off exit 210 on Highway 34 West. A 2000 Grand Prix engine was on fire, the driver was safely out of the car. Personal items in the car being moved to a new house, included clothing, guitars and signs, which all were damaged. The car had an estimated $5,000 in damages. Firefighters returned to the station at 8:25 p.m.

Firefighters investigated an automatic alarm at 3200 W. Madison Ave., at 12:55 a.m. Saturday, and returned to the station at 1:40 a.m.
