Fairfield Fire Department responded to a small fire at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at 409 W. Depot Ave., and extinguished it, returning to the station at 7:25 p.m.

Firefighters were called to a grass fire at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at 2805 W. Grimes Ave., and called Libertyville Fire Department for mutual aid at 3:40 p.m. Only grass burned, but it was near Long Manufacturing and Winfrey Storage. Firefighters returned to the station at 6:50 p.m.

Firefighters responded to a chimney fire at 909 E. Harrison Ave., at 3:15 p.m. Saturday and used ABC dry powder to extinguish the fire, which was a result of creosote build-up. Firefighters returned to the station at 3:54 p.m.

Firefighters were called to a grass fire at 2:19 p.m. Saturday at 2356 Mint Blvd., and returned to the station at 3:15 p.m.

Firefighters were called to a grass fire at 4:04 p.m. Friday at 1733 Old Highway 34. Six acres of cropland burned. Libertyville and Batavia fire departments were called in for mutual aid. Firefighters returned to the station at 6:20 p.m.

Firefighters were called to a grass fire at 3:21 p.m. Friday at 2259 Glasgow Road, where four acres burned. Firefighters returned to the station at 5:41 p.m.
