Fairfield Fire Department responded at 1:14 p.m. Saturday to 700 W. Stone Ave., and used water to extinguish a fire in trash cans. The source of ignition was unknown. Firefighters returned to the station at 1:46 p.m.
Firefighters responded to a call at 4:48 p.m. Sunday to a residence at 900 S. Main St. A pan with eggs boiling was left unattended on the stove and filled the house with smoke. A fan was used to ventilate the home and firefighters returned to the station at 5:15 p.m.
