Fairfield Fire Department responded to two field/grass fires Friday, one Saturday and one Sunday.

Seven firefighters responded to a grass fire at 4:58 p.m. Sunday at 2149 155th St., and used water to extinguish a fire that originated in a burn barrel. Firefighters returned to the station at 6 p.m.

Seven firefighters responded to a grass fire at 8:47 a.m. Saturday at 1405 Nipa Blvd. Water was used on the fire which spread from the owner burning weeds in a ditch. Firefighters returned to the station at 10:15 a.m.

Seven firefighters went to 2053 Libertyville Road at 5:22 p.m. Friday where a controlled burn had spread. Firefighters returned to the station at 6:05 p.m.

Seven firefighters responded at 12:46 p.m. Friday to a field fire that originated in a trash pile and was pushed by the wind, at 2096 155th St. Firefighters returned to the station at 2:30 p.m.
