First United Methodist Church will have “Praise & Prayer in the Park” at 10:35 a.m. July 13 at Jefferson County Park, shelter No. 3.
A picnic lunch is planned after the service. Meat, drink and table service will be provided. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish, lawn chairs and a squirt gun for a day of praising God and growing together as a family of faith.
Vacation Bible school set at First United Methodist
First United Methodist Church is planning vacation Bible school for all ages from 5-7:30 p.m. July 13-17 at the church.
The vacation Bible school program will be “Wilderness Escape.” Participants will caravan with Moses and the Israelites as they escape Egypt and learn to trust God.
With all the hardships he faced, Moses might have wanted to give up. But even though he was surrounded by naysayers, Moses trusted God to guide and provide. As kids hear Moses stand up for his faith in God, they’ll discover how they can trust God in everyday life.
Children, youth and adults are welcome to participate, but children 3 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult or a high school age youth.
