Fishels celebrate 30th wedding anniversary
“I want to swim in an ocean, not just walk on the beach for 10 minutes taking pictures,” was Pamela Fishel’s answer when asked what she wanted to commemorate their 30th wedding anniversary.
David Fishel married Pamela Cary Aug. 28, 1982, at the Fairfield Foursquare Church, with the Rev. Paul Griffis and the Rev. Don Hickman officiating. They have three children and one grandchild: Luke and Bethany, parents of Olivia, of Richland, Laura Fishel and Derek Fishel, both of Fairfield.
David Fishel works at Fairfield-Packwood Lumber, and Pamela Fishel writes as frugalfish.org and at thisyearsbiblereadingguide.com.
As the family vacation was to take her mother Margaret Cary to visit her brother Jon Cary’s family in Virginia — a promise made to her father Charles Cary before his death — David Fishel took a few more days of vacation. One day was spent at Virginia Beach, and Pamela Fishel got to swim in the ocean. Upon their return, he booked a honeymoon suite in Burlington and whisked her away for a few days alone.
