Flights between Fort Dodge, Twin Cities begin
FORT DODGE (AP) — Fort Dodge airport officials are celebrating new flight service to Minneapolis and St. Paul.
The Messenger reports that flights from Fort Dodge Regional Airport began on Monday, and it marks the first time the city has had commercial air service to three destinations. A ribbon cutting celebration is scheduled for today when the first Minneapolis/St. Paul flight of the day is to depart.
For decades, Fort Dodge and the Twin Cities have been linked by Northwest Airlink, Delta Airlines and then Great Lakes Airlines. Great Lakes Airlines suspended service on Feb. 1, 2014, citing a lack of pilots.
Air Choice One now offers several flights to Minneapolis.
