FMS boys’ track team runs at Washington Invite
The Fairfield Middle School boys’ track team participated at a track meet Monday in Washington.
Seventh-grader Kosta Papazoglou got second in the shot put, and was followed by his teammate Austin Simpson. Papazoglou also got fourth in the discus. Carson Crile took home third place in the high jump.
Simpson, Papazoglou, Tristan Waugh and A.J. Pohren grabbed second in the 4x200-meter relay.
Nickel Iseman won the 800-meter run and then earned second in the 400-meter run.
Crile, Caden Jones, Brian Parcell and Cole Engle won the spring medley with the time of 2:02.38. The 4x100-meter relay and the 4x400-meter relay teams also were victorious.
Crile, Jones, Parcell and Dylan Harvey combined to finish second in the distance medley.
The 4x100-meter shuttle hurdle team, comprised of Colin Breen, Cooper Drish, Brittan Bowman and Jackson Weaton, earned third place overall.
Many eighth-grade Trojans also did well in events.
The team of Hunter Bechtel, Darren Roberts, Aaron Haines and Bowen Richmond took home first place in the 4x800-meter relay with the time of 10:22.63.
Tycen Jordan, Steeler Higdon and Cade Lisk took 2-4 in the discus. Higdon also got second in the shot put.
Lisk, Blu Schultz, Hunter Hoskins and Max Sullivan combined to grab second in the distance medley.
Bechtel finished second in the 1600-meter run.
