FMS marching band practice starts today
Fairfield Middle School marching band rehearsals will be held today through Thursday in the early evenings at FMS to combine the seventh- and eighth-grade bands and preparation for the parade season.
Rehearsals are scheduled for:
• Today — 4-5:30 p.m. for drums; 5:30-7 p.m. for flags.
• Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday — 4-6 p.m. for all seventh- and eighth-grade band members.
Treats will be served at approximately 5:45 p.m. by the Fairfield Band Aides and area businesses. Students will be dismissed afterward, so rides should arrive no later than 6 p.m.
If students cannot attend a rehearsal due to family vacation or other reasons, notify FMS band instructor Mary Andersen.
Andersen explained the only other time the seventh- and eighth-grade bands will be combined for practive will be the rehearsal on the Thursday immediately prior to the Lockridge Fun Day parade, so attendance is important.
“Once school starts, there are only three rehearsals before the Lockridge parade,” she said.
Parents can contact Andersen with questions or concerns at any time at firstname.lastname@example.org or the FMS office at 472-5019.
Andersen said the best way to contact her is via email.
