FMS wrestling concludes
The Fairfield Middle School wrestling team, which featured 16 eighth-graders and four seventh-graders this winter, concluded the season Monday at a meet in Ottumwa. The young Trojan wrestlers combined to produce a match record of 170 wins and 155 losses during the year, and several individuals produced standout seasons. Michael Fritz finished the year undefeated at 21-0, pinning each of his opponents and never getting scored on. Charles Heisel and Trenton Hanen both finished with only one loss, as Hanen fought to a 15-1 record and Heisel was 5-1 in his injury-shortened season. Team members are pictured, from left, front row: manager Mason Allen, second row: Gannon Courtright, Bailey Kemp, Zach Barnes, Derek Beasley, Dallas Peebler, Lane Yates; third row: Bailey Jones, Simon Spalla, Alex Sisomphane, Trenton Nelson, Jose Rojo, Brendon Lunsford; back row: Trenton Hanen, Mitch Taglauer, Michael Fritz, Chris Hanson, Walker Allen and Austin Winslow.
