‘Freckleface Strawberry’ at Sondheim
Two Roads Educational Arts & Theater will present three performances of “Freckleface Strawberry The Musical” at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center’s Stephen Sondheim Center for the Performing Arts.
Performances will be at 7 p.m. June 27 and 3 p.m. June 28-29.
“Freckleface Strawberry The Musical” is based on the New York Times Best Selling book by actress Julianne Moore.
With soaring live music, awesome dancing and a freckleface full of laughs, the whole family will love this brand new musical for all ages.
Step inside the book’s pages with Freckleface and friends, and learn to “love the skin you’re in.” Freckleface will do anything to get rid of her freckles – from scrubbing them away with soap, to caking on makeup and even wearing a ski mask to school.
Will Freckleface be brave enough to finally face her complexion in the mirror? With the help of her schoolmates, including a talented ballerina, a cutie jock, a charming ditz and a totally kooky teacher, Freckleface learns that everyone is different and that’s what makes everyone special.
“‘Freckleface Strawberry The Musical’ is entertaining and carries an important message — to embrace the things that make you unique,” said Mandy Mellum, Fairfield Arts & Convention Center events and marketing manager. “Learning to be proud of who you are is critical for young and old alike. We are grateful to have a performance at the Sondheim this summer that shares such an encouraging moral.”
Fairfield native Shannon Cochran returns to the Sondheim stage to lead a cast of eight professional performers including Tayloir Price, Thomas Copas, Noah Hendry, Mariah Thornton, Hope Wright, Candice Dickinson and Brian Dallas Kocher. The performance is produced by Derek Anderson, founder of Two Roads Educational Arts & Theater.
Tickets for “Freckleface Strawberry The Musical” are general admission, $18 for adults and $12 for youth, 18 years and younger.
