Free film showing at library
A free showing of a film is planned Friday evening at the Fairfield Public Library.
The doors open at 7 p.m., and the film starts at 7:30 p.m.
The library’s license does not allow it to publicize the names of films it shows.
The film being shown Friday is a 2012 film set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965. It tells the story of two 12-year olds who fall in love, make a secret pact and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore, and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in every which way.
The film features an all-star cast, including Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman and Bob Balaban and introduces Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as the two youngsters.
The film is rated PG-13, is in English and has a running time of 94 minutes.
Organic popcorn is available for a $1 donation. The donations help the library renew its movie license.
Specific details about the free film showing can be found at www.fairfield.lib.ia.us under the library’s calendar tab.
