Fumigation course Tuesday at Extension office in Fairfield■ The preregistration deadline for the continuing instruction course has been extended
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Jefferson County office will host a Fumigation Continuing Instruction Course for commercial and private fumigant pesticide applicators Tuesday.
The program is offered at office locations across Iowa through the ISU Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program. The local attendance site for the class is the Jefferson County ISU Extension office.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by sessions from 9-11 a.m.
The deadline for preregistration has been extended. Call Colleen Matson at the Jefferson County ISU Extension office at 472-4166 for information and preregistration.
A fee will be charged to attend the class.
The course will provide continuing instruction credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 7C (Fumigation) and 10 (Research and Demonstration) and private pesticide applicators who are certified to apply fumigants.
The course will cover topics including:
• Recognition of Sensitive Areas
• Fumigant Labels
• Exposure to Fumigants
• Pests, Pest Management and Pesticides
