Gandy will lead with head and heart
To the editor:
I voted for Paul Gandy as our Jefferson County Supervisor not just because I’ve known him for over 25 years, but because he’s smart and he cares … about everyone. Microsoft founder Bill Gates revealed his secret for success when he said, “The key for us, number one, has always been hiring very smart people.”
We need to hire smart people in all levels of government, too. In this day and age, we need Paul and people like him at the helm who can help steer the course of public interest and action to one we can all share. Paul will advocate and actually do what’s in the best interest of everyone, not just pursue some ideology. He isn’t polarizing. He has an integrated mind and balanced sense of fair play. When you look at this political environment, Paul’s the kind of person to bridge the gap.
Paul is a very intelligent guy. There’s an emotional intelligence quotient and intellectual intelligence quotient. Paul’s a shining example of both. He’s optimistic and self-aware, but more importantly he shows empathy in understanding others’ points of view, impulse control in thinking first and acting later, and perhaps most importantly, he has the ability to see things realistically as they are, not just as we may want them to be. He’ll lead from his head and his heart to work with people and do the right thing for Jefferson County.
