Girl Scout going for Gold
Danielle Garrison is hosting an expedition and demonstration of a dog agility park from 2-4 p.m. Nov. 10 and Nov. 11 at the Fairfield dog park in O.B. Nelson Park.
Garrison is hosting the event to earn her Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest award that can be earned in Girl Scouting.
Garrison is inviting dog owers and their dogs, leashed and under control, to attend the event as she plans to teach attendees how to use the dog agility equipment.
Kaye Gilbert, Jefferson County 4-H youth coordinator, said the expedition and demonstration would be “an awesome practice for our dog project kids, as well as any families interested in joining the dog project.”
Garrison’s dogs Max and Sassy earned the best agility-small dog and best agility-medium dog awards, respectively, at the 2012 Greater Jefferson County Fair 4-H Dog Show.
During the open house events, Garrison will be collecting donations to fund fencing, equipment and maintenance of the dog park.
