Green Bay receiver speaking at Indian Hills’ Celebrity Night
OTTUMWA — James Jones, Green Bay Packers wide receiver, will be the featured speaker at the 32nd annual Celebrity Night at Indian Hills Community College on March 7. The event will be held in the Main Building Dining Room on the college’s Ottumwa campus.
Jones started all 18 games for Green Bay this season, including the postseason, and led the Packers with 15 touchdown receptions. He caught 72 passes for 922 yards, averaging 12.8 yards per catch. His 14 regular season TD receptions topped NFL receivers.
Jones, who played collegiately at San Jose State University, was voted by his teammates as a playoff captain for the first time in his career, joining quarterback Aaron Rodgers as the squad’s two representatives for the offense.
Jones just completed his sixth year in the NFL, all with Green Bay who selected him in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft.
Celebrity Night is one of three major fundraisers for the Indian Hills Foundation Scholarship Program. The evening will begin with a 5:30 p.m. social followed by a prime rib-seafood dinner at 6:30 and Jones’ remarks at 7:30. Tickets are available by calling Leslie Moore at 641-683-5152. Tickets can be purchased individually or by the table.
