Halloween parade winners listed

LIBERTYVILLE — The Libertyville Community celebrated on Saturday.

Starting off the day was a pancake breakfast at the new fire station; lunch followed at the community center with Boy Scout Troup 64 cooking hot dogs.

The afternoon featured the 40th year of the annual Halloween Parade, sponsored by the Libertyville Community Center. Children and adults of all ages were dressed up to walk in the parade. Costume parade winners were:

0-2 year olds — first place, Hailey Bowman; second place, Aspen Tarrence; and third place, Alexandra Steward.

Preschool — first place, Aiden Porter; second place, Emerson Porter; and third place, Alex Hudson.

Kindergarten — first place, Anabelle Miller; second place, Madalyn Harl; and third place, Jaden Davis.

First and Second Grade — first place, Sterling Spees; second place, Hailey Burke; third place, Michael Gorsuch.

Third and Fourth Grade — first place, Brendan Marcellus, second place, Mitchell Thacker; and third place, Zachary Elliott.

Fifth and Sixth Grade — first place, Dylan Barras; second place, Katie McLain; and third place, unclaimed.

Seventh Grade through Adult — first place, Danielle Elliott; and second place Rebecca Elliott.

The Honorable Mention award went to the Ryan Richardson family.

First place in the float category went to the Faith United Methodist Church. Second place float was the Libertyville Savings Bank.

The Fairfield Middle School marching band performed under the direction of Mary Andersen.

Several collector cars owned by local residents also drove in the parade.

The Libertyville Fire Department provided traffic control.

In addition to the Libertyville Community Center, the annual Halloween parade was sponsored by Libertyville Savings Bank, the city of Libertyville, Live Wire Electric, TD&T Financial Group, Smithburg Automotive, Farmer’s Co-op, RPM Automotive, Fesler Auto Mall, Hickenbottom Inc., Libertyville Gas & Goodies, Farm Bureau-Alex Kessel, Precision Equipment, Straight Up Doors and the Libertyville Elementary School.
