Hawthorne Direct employees donate to Lord’s Cupboard
Hawthorne Direct employees recently presented a company donation to The Lord’s Cupboard to help purchase food supplies for holiday food boxes provided to local residents in need.
Hawthorne’s human resources manager Tammy Shull and executive assistant DeeDee Banks represented the company personally by delivering the donation to Edith Perry and Pauline Rodgers of The Lord’s Cupboard.
Shull said, “We learned the pantry has an urgent need for funds to purchase food supplies as they are aiding a growing number of families this season with a smaller supply of food. Tim Hawthorne graciously stepped in and approved for a donation from Hawthorne Direct. It is our hope more donations will follow suit.”
“The regional food bank currently is providing food supplies for 160 members. For those interested in helping, The Lord’s Cupboard invites the public to help assemble Christmas food boxes at the Church of Nazarene on Tuesday, Dec. 18 starting at 5:30 p.m. for families to pick up the next day,” said Shull.
