IDOT road repairs create one-lane traffic west of Richland, in Selma area

Apr 09, 2013

Road construction work is underway on Iowa 78 west of Richland and will require possible daytime lane restrictions until May 27, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mount Pleasant construction office.

During this project, traffic will be operating in a single-lane pattern in alternating directions from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays.

Motorists will be directed through the work zone by flaggers. There is a 12-foot width lane restriction in the project area.

A hot-mix asphalt crack filling project on Iowa 16 requires lane restrictions until Friday, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mount Pleasant construction office.

The project work is affecting traffic on Iowa 16 between the intersection with U.S. 34 and southwest to the Selma area.

During this project, traffic will be operating in a single-lane pattern in alternating directions from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays.

Motorists will be directed through the work zone by flaggers and a pilot car. There is an 11-foot width lane restriction in the project area.

The Iowa D.O.T. reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones.

As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
