Students in Ashley Flynn’s third grade class at Pence Elementary School explain how their problem-solving invention works. From left are: Viola Welsh, Lana Davis, Isaac Harris, Jacob Hoon and Dalton Buch. The class recently completed a unit on inventions, and got to try their hand at making their own. The class learned about how famous inventions, such as the telephone, automobile and airplane, have made life much easier. Flynn asked her students to think of their own invention that could solve a problem. Several groups created a machine designed to help students with their homework.
