Iowa man faces up to 25 years in prison for bank robbery
CEDAR RAPIDS (AP) — A man in eastern Iowa faces up to 25 years in prison for using a weapon to rob a bank in July.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the northern district of Iowa says 45-year-old Brandon Brown of Monticello pled guilty Wednesday at a federal court in Cedar Rapids to armed bank robbery.
Brown admitted he took more than $4,000 from an F&M Bank in Monticello. He says he pointed a weapon at a bank employee during the robbery.
Brown will be sentenced at a later date. He could face a maximum prison sentence of 25 years and a $250,000 fine.
