Iowa Women’s Foundation accepting proposals for 2014 grants

Mar 25, 2013

The Iowa Women’s Foundation is accepting grant proposals for its annual grant-giving cycle for projects that begin on Jan. 1, 2014 or later.

The foundation is seeking applications for projects that advance economic security and/or promote leadership opportunities for Iowa women and girls. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. May 31.

All projects applying for funding from the IWF must be specifically for women and/or girls in Iowa. Informal groups of women and/or girls, grassroots organizations and formal not-for-profit organizations may apply for funding.

All proposed activities must be not-for-profit in nature. The IWF seeks to fund projects that go beyond the provision of direct services to create underlying social change. Together, a stronger statewide network of services for Iowa women and girls can be built. Explore the foundation’s online searchable database at http://iawf.org/pages/organization-directory.php and share feedback.

During the past 17 years, IWF has awarded more than $300,000 in grants to 102 projects in more than 65 counties throughout Iowa.

The 2014 IWF Application Form and IWF Grant Guidelines are available online at http://iawf.org/pages/information-for-grant-seekers.php.

Contact the IWF at 320 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City 52240 or call 319-337-4222 or toll-free 1-888-488-4293 or e-mail info@iawf.org for more information about the Iowa Women’s Foundation or for a hard copy of the Foundation’s grant guidelines.
