Iowan expected to change plea in prescription case
MASON CITY (AP) — A northern Iowa woman is expected to change her plea later this month in a prescription forgery case.
The Mason City Globe Gazette says 35-year-old Gina Splitt, of Algona, also has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and with insurance fraud.
In November she’d pleaded not guilty. It’s unclear what charges will be on the table at her change-of-plea hearing on March 26.
Her co-defendant, 34-year-old Melissa Ricke, also of Algona, faces similar charges. Ricke has pleaded not guilty. Her trial is scheduled to begin April 30.
