Jazz band; 'Camping Sunday;' Rummage/bake sale; UMM; UMW; Barbecued lunch
Fairfield All Star Jazz Band to play at special service
First Presbyterian Church will present a special worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday featuring the Fairfield All Star Jazz Band.
The Rev. Joe Phipps, pastor of the church, will intermingle scripture and an enlightening message with music performed by church organist Betty Mayer and the 16-piece jazz band. Songs to be performed as part of the service include: “Tomorrow’s Memories,” “Wade In The Water,” “This Little Light Of Mine,” “Amazing Grace,” “Lean On Me,” “What A Wonderful World” and others.
Members of the Fairfield All Star Jazz Band include: Francis Thicke, Greg Hanshaw, Arvin Bogaards, Jeff Six, Gary Roth, Jay Stookesbury, Mark McCabe, Ken Burns, Rodger Gillaspie, Ron Prill, Tim Nelson, Jim Edgeton, Gerry Runyon, Leanne Edgeton, Sue Burns and Ken Norton.

Libertyville church plans ‘Camping Sunday’
LIBERTYVILLE — Faith United Methodist Church will have “Camping Sunday” at 10 a.m. Sunday at the church.
Those attending worship can come dressed in camping duds and bring fishing poles.
Plans are to sing camp songs around a faux campfire, hear the word of God from a woodsman and testimonies from campers of how God works through the camping program.
Campfire treats will be served.
Everyone is invited to “Camping Sunday.”
Rummage, bake sale set May 3-4 at Eldon church
ELDON — The Eldon United Methodist Church will have a rummage and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 3-4 at the church.
A free cup of coffee will be given with the purchase of a baked item.
Lunch will be served, and include chili soup, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and salads. Free-will offerings will be accepted.
UMM breakfast May 5
The United Methodist Men of First United Methodist Church will have a breakfast at 7 a.m. May 5.
Lunch set May 5 at Faith
LIBERTYVILLE — A barbecued lunch will be served from 12:30-2 p.m. May 5 at Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville.
The menu will include barbecued pork tenderloin or chicken breast, salads, desserts and drink.
A free-will offering will be collected.
May breakfast planned May 8 in Keosauqua
KEOSAUQUA – The United Methodist Women’s May Breakfast will be held May 8 at the United Methodist Church in Keosauqua.
The theme is “Mexican.”
Reservations should be made with Marilyn Nance by Wednesday.
