Jefferson County Fairfield 4-H Clover Kids
The Jefferson County Fairfield 4-H Clover Kids met 5:15-6:15 p.m. Oct. 10 in the Jefferson County Fairgrounds Activity Building, concurrent with the 4-H Find Out Night in the ISU Extension Office.
Thirty-seven members participated in “guess how much candy is in the jar” game with the winner taking the candy home.
Children used their sense of hearing, touch and smell to guess what 10 items were in a sealed paper bag, and they went out to the showring and played “Monster Fingers” racing with balloons.
The children created and ate spider cookies for their snack. They used cookies, round candies, licorice strings and a small amount of frosting to create the spiders.
Helping with the activities were Eileen Pickard, Karen Crossland, John Sambothe, Jason Steele, Sophia Mineart, Brittany Hoskins and Brandon Hoskins.
Members are reminded the third annual 4-H trunk or treat will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. 4-H clubs, families and invited community partners will have the back end of their vehicles decorated in a Halloween scene and will be passing out Halloween candy. Games, a cakewalk and a concession stand are planned.
