JEFFERSON COUNTY FARM BUREAU WOMEN
The Jefferson County Farm Bureau Women met March 5 for lunch at Pizza Ranch, followed by a program and meeting in the Jefferson County ISU Extension Office meeting room.
Jefferson County Farm Bureau President J.D. Hollingsworth, along with his sister Bridget, spoke to the group and presented pictures of their recent trip to Arizona.
Shirley Stanley opened the meeting portion with a reading, “Write on your Heart” by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Roll call was answered with acts about the education and people of India.
Acting as secretary, Phyllis Harris read the minutes for approval.
Stanley reported on member visits and calls made. Wilma Lewis Whitham brought attention to an article in Reader’s Digest.
Sharon Schafer, along with Harris, Stanley and Whitham volunteered to hand out fliers titled “Farmer’s Share of the Food Dollar” at the Farm Bureau sponsored breakfast from 6-9 a.m. March 19 at the Fairfield Hy-Vee Food and Drug Store.
Jeanene Peiffer of Sigourney will be hostess and in charge of the program for the next meeting scheduled for 11:30 a.m. April 2 at the Pizza Ranch in Sigourney. The group will meet to carpool at 10:30 a.m. at the Jefferson County Fairground.
