Jefferson County Park represented on photo quilt
The Healthy & Happy Outdoors photo quilt displayed in the Iowa Department of Natural Resources building at the Iowa State Fair includes photos from each county in the state.
The 99 photos include one taken by Mike Griffin of Fairfield. The photo, taken in Jefferson County Park, features a cluster of coneflowers with the pond at Shelter No. 3 in the background.
The DNR asked the public to share photos of their favorite outdoor recreation activity. More than 400 entries were received, and one winning photo was chosen from each county. The photos on the quilt depict activities from camping and fishing to bird watching and trail walking.
Winning photographers were awarded a one-year subscription to Iowa Outdoors magazine.
