JEFFERSON COUNTY RELAY FOR LIFE
Jefferson County Relay for Life will have a get-together at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Fairfield Hy-Vee Food and Drug Store Club Room.
Team captains can pick up team packets, turn in fundraising monies, register teams online and learn more about the relay event.
Fun, food and prizes are planned.
JEFFERSON COUNTY CATTLEMEN
Jefferson County Cattlemen invite all cattle producers and friends of the industry to its next meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at Kokomos Bar & Grill at the Best Western Fairfield Inn.
Topics of discussion will be the group’s participation at the Greater Jefferson County Fair, RAGBRAI and youth scholarships.
The guest speaker will be Tom Judy, who will discuss “Bull Buying Strategies” and how to use EPD information to benefit individual herds. He has recently moved back into the area from managing the Bull Test Station in Midland, Mont., and was previously the long-time general manager of Summitcrest Farms managing 1,800 Angus cows in Nebraska, Iowa and Ohio.
The Ladies Auxiliary to Dimmitt-Vorhies Post 2271 met Feb. 11 at the post home.
Nine members were present.
The “I Love America” contest was discussed, and it will be held again next year.
Members approved donating an American flag to Wagon Wheel Apartments.
Sending more aid to cancer research was discussed.
The next meeting will be March 11 at the post home.
