JFAN annual meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday
Three environmental activists will share how they are empowering communities to challenge confined animal feeding operations at the Jefferson County Farmers & Neighbors Inc. annual meeting.
The title lecture of the meeting is “NO MORE! How One Woman and a Team of Lawyers Are Helping Neighbors Stand Up to Factory Farms.” The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.
Lynn Henning, the 2010 Goldman Environmental Prize winner for North America, will be joined by nationally renowned attorneys Charlie Speer of Kansas City, Mo., and Richard Middleton of Savannah, Ga., both of whom have become famous for opposing CAFOs.
