Judith Feddersen Groh
Judith Feddersen Groh, 71, of Washington, Iowa, died Friday morning, April 12, 2013, at University Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A graveside celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Brighton’s Hillcrest Cemetery, with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating.
A general memorial has been established and can be left at the funeral service or mailed to the family at 925 E. Third St., Washington, IA 52353.
Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Groh was born Jan. 8, 1942, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Willis E. and C. Berniece Cassaday Howell. She married Jerry K. Groh April 20, 1991, and was later divorced.
She attended Brighton schools and graduated from Washington High School in 1960. She also attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids and Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa where she graduated as a licensed practical nurse.
She lived most of her life in the Washington area except for 20 years in Des Moines. She worked for many years as a long-term care nurse in Washington and in Des Moines. She retired in 1992.
Mrs. Groh was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three children: Deborah S. Williams and husband Mike of Washington, Iowa, Lisa M. Fowler and husband Todd Reschly, also of Washington, and Chris “Fed” Feddersen of Wayland; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ted Howell; and one grandchild.
