June 3 primary absentee ballots available now
SIGOURNEY — The Keokuk County Auditor’s Office reports the voter registration deadline to pre-register to vote is 5 p.m. May 23, for the upcoming primary election June 3.
If mailing a voter registration card, it must be postmarked on or before May 19 to vote June 3.
Absentee ballots are available now for voting in the auditor’s office.
The Keokuk County Auditor’s Office will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 31 to facilitate in-person absentee voting.
Residents can still register at precincts on Election Day.
To register on June 3 at a precinct, bring a current photo identification with an expiration date that states a current address.
To obtain an absentee ballot upon written request in Keokuk County, go to the county’s website and download the absentee ballot request form.
Jefferson County also has an absentee ballot request form on its county website on the auditor’s page.
Write a request to vote in the primary election June 3 and ask for either a Republican or Democratic ballot; provide the address where it should be mailed; provide a date of birth; and it must be signed by each person requesting a ballot.
Absentee ballots returned must be postmarked on or before June 2.
Voted absentee ballots also may be returned to the auditor’s office in person until 9 p.m. on Election Day, during business hours.
