JV, freshman teams fall to Mount Pleasant
Fairfield fought to a tie game in the final minutes of its JV girls’ basketball game vs. Mount Pleasant Friday, but it was all Panthers in the closing moments.
Mount Pleasant broke a 35-all tie and scored the final eight points in the conference opener, claiming a 43-35 victory in Fairfield.
Mackenzie Flattery led the Trojans on offense with nine points, and Madison Roberts recorded eight points and eight boards. Karley Williams scored seven points, Delaney Neil finished with six points and eight rebounds, and Taylor Ferrel and Molly Ryan scored two points apiece.
The JV team will be back in action today at Albia.
Freshmen lose 40-29
Delaney Neil scored 13 points with a team-high seven rebounds, yet the ninth-graders lost a 40-29 game to Mount Pleasant on Monday.
Fairfield’s Courtney Gilmore added seven points. Alyssa Fitch scored five points and Addison Thornton added four.
