Keosauqua celebrating 175 years with parade
KEOSAUQUA— “Celebrating 175 Years” is the theme for Keosauqua’s parade July 5.
The parade coincides with Keosauqua’s weekend festivities July 4-6, celebrating the town’s 175th birthday.
All entries that wish to be announced need to be at the Van Buren High School front entance at the corner of Fourth and Oak streets starting at 8:30 a.m. and in place by 9:30 a.m. Information sheets to be completed about the entry will be distributed at the entrance to the parade line-up and then picked up by the Rotary parade committee members.
Line-up for the parade is on a first-come, first-serve basis. No pre-registration is necessary.
The parade will leave the school at 10 a.m. The route leaves the Sixth Street exit of the school, proceeds past Good Samaritan Center on Country Lane Road, then turns right on Dodge Street down to First Street, turns right at the Old Creamery and proceeds down First Street to the viewing stand in front of the library.
All businesses, organizations, groups, teams, bands, families, children, and individuals are encouraged to participate in the parade and join the community in celebrating Keosauqua’s 175th birthday.
